Content: This article describes individual sections of the "Dashboard" of the online portal "Shift4 Customer Hub." It includes the Settlement charts, the Transactions overview for the current day, as well as the key figure "Auth Approval Rate" (rate of approved transactions).

The "Dashboard" provides a compact overview of current sales trends and important key figures.

The "Dashboard" opens as the homepage after a successful login to "Shift4 Customer Hub." If a different section has been set as the homepage in the settings, click on "Dashboard" on the left.

"Locations" filter:

When managing multiple locations from a single account, the “Locations” filter is available. This filter allows you to select individual locations and view them on the “Dashboard.” The filter is not available when managing a single location.

Settlements

The settlement chart on the left displays settlement data as a line chart compared to a previous period. The data is shown for defined time periods such as “This Week,” “Last Week,” “This Month,” or “Last Month.” Time periods are selected using the dropdown menu at the bottom of the chart.
The chart displays two lines: The solid line represents the selected period, and the dashed line represents the corresponding previous period. This enables the analysis and comparison of settlement trends.
The parameters “Net Total,” “Gross Total,” and the number of “Transactions” are displayed. The Gross Total represents the total transaction revenue. The Net Total is calculated by subtracting applicable fees from the Gross Total and corresponds to the amount actually paid out. The blue line above the chart indicates which of the displayed parameters is currently shown in the chart. Clicking on one of the parameters changes the chart display accordingly.

The settlement chart on the right displays the ratio of “Settled,” “Reserve,” and “Payout” payments as a bar chart for the selected time period. Here, too, the time period is selected using the dropdown menu at the bottom of the chart.

Settled: Payments that have been approved and successfully processed.

Reserve: Amount withheld and temporarily set aside in connection with chargebacks. It is released once the chargeback resolution is complete and is then paid out either to the merchant or to the customer.

Payout: Payout amount, calculated as Settled minus Reserve.

Transactions

The “Transactions” section displays current sales data in real time. The data is shown for the time periods "Today" or “Yesterday.” You can select the time period using the dropdown menu at the bottom of the transaction list. The display shows the transaction time, the amount charged, the card used, and the last four digits of the card number. Use the scroll bar on the right to navigate through the entries in the list. Above the list, the blue bar indicates which data is being displayed. Clicking “Latest” or “Need Review” changes the view accordingly.
"Latest" displays the transactions for the selected time period. “Need Review” displays transactions that require clarification.
Clicking the “Manage Transactions” link takes you to the complete transaction overview. This can also be accessed via the “Transactions” section in the left-hand navigation.

Key Figures

At the bottom right, the key figures "Auth Approval Rate" and "Chargeback Rate" are displayed.
For both key figures, the period is selected via the selection menu at the bottom of the key figure display.

The Auth Approval Rate shows the proportion of approved and completed payments in the selected period. It is calculated using the following formula:

Approval rate = Approvals ÷ (Approvals + Declines)

The "Chargeback Rate" shows the number of chargebacks in relation to the completed payments.

The key figures displayed in the "Risk" section are irrelevant. These are related to the risk and fraud prevention tools, which are currently only used by US merchants.
